IC 5146
The Cocoon Nebula
Image Information
The Cocoon Nebula is made up of the open cluster IC5146 and
surrounded by nebulosity of mostly Hydrogen gas. The nebula is located
at the end of a long dark nebula B168. The cluster is made up of mostly
12th magnitude stars. |

This image is compiled from
luminance data of 9 - 10 minute subs, 6 - 10 minute subs of Red, Green
and Blue. This image suffers from need of more data but was done to test
the optics after cleaning and re-collimation. Overall, I can say I'm
very happy with the results. The telescope was guided using the remote
guide head connected to the SBIG ST10XME mounted to the AP guidescope
using 3 second guide exposures. |
